About Me

Hi, I'm Mark and I write humorous, feel-good stories about relatable characters facing surprises and complications as they try to change their lives.

 

My novels celebrate the things we care about most: life, love, family, friends, fresh starts and second chances – all of which have a habit of disrupting the best laid plans...

 

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re not alone. My story of new beginnings, ‘Olivia Holmes Has Inherited A Vineyard’, was an Amazon UK best seller.

 

I have 25 years' experience writing for radio and TV (successes span a BBC Radio 4 sitcom to three years as a regular writer for Channel 4’s ‘The Big Breakfast’). I've also penned 130+ short film scripts for clients such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, Amnesty International, US AID, and the UK's National Health Service.

Away from my desk you’ll find me reading, walking, listening to music or attempting to be a gardener.

I also write children's books which are illustrated by my grown-up son, Mike.

​

My children’s TV credits include Shaun the Sheep, Chuggington, Thomas & Friends, Pinky & Perky, 3rd & Bird, and Basil Brush.
